Following the success of its first open source font, this week Adobe released a second open source typeface called Source Code Pro. The new web font was announced at the Create the Web event, along with the new Edge Tools and Services for developers. The OpenStack Foundation also had a big release with the highly anticipated launch of Folsom, including networking and block storage services.

- “Ubuntu’s Amazon Search Feature Gets Kill Switch” was published by Fabian Scherschel on The H about the added option to disable Ubuntu’s new Amazon search integration after receiving push-back from the community.
- On Datamation, Sean Michael Kerner reported on the OpenStack Foundation’s first release since taking over full support of the cloud platform from Rackspace: “OpenStack Folsom Release Accelerates Open Source Cloud Stack.”
- Susan Linton covered the second anniversary of The Document Foundation in the OStatic article, “The Document Foundation Turns Two.”
