Happy Independence Day!

Today we’d like to present the second in our series of patriotically-inspired songs about open source, “This Code Is Your Code, This Code is My Code”

(To the tune of This Land is Your Land)

This code is your code, this code is my code
From the Linux Kernel to the Android Code Base
From Eclipse Foundation to the Perl Script Libraries
This code was made for you and me

As I was searching on Ohloh.net
I saw committers about on the web
I saw them posting up into Github
This code was made for you and me

This code is your code, this code is my code
From coiling Python to the glistening Ruby
From LibreOffice, to the cloud-based OpenStack
This code was made for you and me

I wrote and debugged many a code bit
I’ve found helpful to go and commit
I wish to give back my source code gladly
This code was meant for you and me

And then there’s Sourceforge with hosted projects
Including downloads on mirrored networks
Put on your Red Hat and join the OSI
This code was meant for you and me

This code is your code, this code is my code
From the Fox on Fire to the lighted LAMP Stack
From Ubuntu opsys  to the Git Community
This code was made for you and me
This code was made for you and me
This code was made for you and me
